The independent Newspaper and Mail Deliverers' Union represents employees at newspapers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Organized October 29, 1901 NMDU has a long history of fighting hard for it's membership. NMDU members deliver bulk newspapers for The New York Times, New York Post, New York Daily News, The Star Ledger of Newark, El Diario, America Oggi, Wall Street Journal. As well as Hudson County News Company, which distributes magazines and Liberty News Inc. a periodical wholesaler. The National Distributors Alliance (NDA) is also represented by the NMDU. NMDU Drives New Yorks Newspapers & Magazines. Born out of the Newsboys' strike of 1899, NMDU has a long proud history of representing our members. Standing up for our members has been our #1 priority for over a century. And in our changing times, NMDU is fighting harder then ever to secure a prosperous future for our members and their families. The NMDU Pension Plan provides pension benefits for our retired members and their beneficiaries. Since the early 1900's NMDU has been proudly delivering the New York Post throughout the New York area. The New York Post is currently the 13th oldest newspaper in America, and NMDU drivers kept the newspapers on the news stands even in the toughest of times.
